Personal summary
Hello! :) I am Dávid Kepič, also known as dejvokep, a junior software engineer with a background in math, physics, and IT; passionate about thinking-intensive tasks and teamwork. I am currently studying Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Information Technology of CTU in Prague.
How did I get here
My software engineering journey started early on playing with the intelligent LEGO EV3 set and while dreaming of becoming a Minecraft server owner. To be honest, I did not even own my own license, until I was gifted one for my help on a server of my friend. Funnily enough, my projects of this era are still available on marketplaces and open-sourced on GitHub. And yet, I am now proudly continuing as a productive individual helping to support systems serving thousands of users daily, from SSL/TLS certificates and load balancers, all the way to raw HTML, CSS and server code.
Having designed and produced my first PCB at the age of 14, I have always shown hands-on interest in hardware and system design alongside software. I remember building my own computer when the pandemic hit and watching the release of the RTX 3000 series, doing research and watching countless videos and leaks. Since then, my academic studies have broadened my knowledge not only in concepts of linear algebra and algorithms, but also in the HDL domains and CPU architectures.
In my free time
Outside of work and school I contribute to open-source projects, travel and enjoy spending time with people - habits and activities that keep me sharp and curious. Volunteering has a special place in my heart and sometimes I and my team attend hackathons, the submissions for many of which I am very proud of.
